Tara Stewart, PhD
Tara Stewart is a social psychologist whose mixed-methods research focuses on applied evaluation of community-based health and social programs. She holds positions as Health Services Researcher with the George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, University of Manitoba.
Tara’s expertise is in the area of social cognition (thoughts about others and about the self in-relation to others), social epidemiology, and applied research methodology.
Tara partners with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and the Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth (MACY) to evaluate the impact of mental health programming for Manitoba children. Currently, Tara is examining the impact of Thrival Kits™ – a classroom-based mental health promotion program delivered by grade 4-6 teachers in 300+ schools across Manitoba
