Samantha Salmon, MSc
Samantha is a the Project Coordinator for the CARe Research Training Platform (CARe RTP) at the University of Manitoba. She received her Master of Science (MSc) in Community Health Sciences (University of Manitoba, 2021) and her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Health Sciences (Simon Fraser University, 2015).
Samantha has been a member of the CARe Research Team since 2016 and has gained experience with all aspects of the research process. Samantha is passionate about studying childhood adversity and supporting children’s fundamental rights to live in safe and nurturing environments that promote healthy child development. Her research interests include mental health, child maltreatment and adversity, health research methodology, and biostatistics.
Prior to joining the CARe Research Team, Samantha was a Student Research Assistant with the Children’s Health Policy Centre in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Under the supervision of Scientific Director Dr. Nicole Catherine, she supported the BC Healthy Connections Project, a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program. Samantha also has several years of experience with data management and analysis in various settings such as health care program evaluation.
