Nawal Masood completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons) at McMaster University and is currently pursuing training in a clinical and research program. Nawal’s research interests focus on the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents, particularly those experiencing adversity, mental health challenges, and barriers to equitable care. She is particularly interested in how early life adversity influences mental health and development, including the family, social, and individual factors that can buffer its effects and foster resilience. Drawing on a strengths-based and ecological perspective, she is interested in how these protective processes can inform evidence-informed, family- and youth-centred approaches that are responsive to the diverse needs and circumstances of children and families.
