Michelle O’Kane, PhD Candidate
Michelle O’Kane (she/her/hers) is a PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia, the Coordinator for the UBC Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families (Vancouver campus) and a Registered Social Worker. She qualified as a social worker in 2005 and worked as a practitioner and manager covering all aspects of child welfare in Scotland, England and British Columbia. Her interests are critical child protection studies and systems transformation; program evaluation; child supervision and children in public space; service provision in the perinatal period; and social work pedagogy and child welfare education.
