Megan Cooney, MD

Dr. Megan Cooney is a pediatrician and adolescent medicine specialist. She is a staff physician at the University of Manitoba providing care in adolescent medicine, consultative pediatric care (Rankin Inlet), and child maltreatment medicine. Dr. Cooney is the current Medical Director of the Child Protection Center. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba. She has testified as an expert witness in the areas of child maltreatment and general pediatrics. Dr. Cooney believes relevant thoughtful research is important to guide practice and system changes with the potential to decrease maltreatment and mitigate the deleterious effects of maltreatment.
