Community Research Partner

Dr. Matthew Maher is the Manager of Research and Quality Assurance at the Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth (MACY). During his four years at MACY, Matt has been responsible for creating, developing, and project managing several comprehensive special reports about systemic issues that impact children, youth, and young adults in Manitoba. Prior to MACY, he worked as a Researcher at the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. Matt is the author of a book and over a dozen peer-reviewed articles on various topics, including most recently one about sexual exploitation of students at K-12 schools across Canada and one on sleep-related infant deaths in Manitoba. He is dedicated to continue to contribute in meaningful ways to improve the lives of Manitoba’s children and youth.
