Marlyn Bennett BA, MA, PhD
Dr. Marlyn Bennett (WaaWaaTe Ikwe (Ojibway)|”Northern Lights Woman”) is an academic specializing in Indigenous Child Welfare and qualitative research. She has served in leadership roles for 18 years at Animikii Ozoson Child & Family Services and on the boards of various child protection organizations.
With 13 years as Director of Research at the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society, she advanced advocacy efforts. Currently an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, Dr. Bennett holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) focusing on Indigenous Children’s Well-being.
She is also an artist and co-owns EB2Image Design Research, providing design services to Indigenous organizations.
