Lauren McGowan, Research Assistant
Lauren is a Master of Science student in Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba and is a member of the CARe research team. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her thesis project focused on understanding environmental effects on spatial learning using the pre-tangle tau Alzheimer’s Disease rat model.
Lauren’s current graduate research focuses on mental disorders among emerging adults in Canada. Her research interests include population health, mental health, access to mental health care, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders and psychiatry.
