Julie-Anne McCarthy- Research Assistant, University of Manitoba
Julie-Anne is a PhD candidate in the Department of Community Health Sciences and a member of the CARe team since 2021. She has an Honours Degree in Psychology (U of Manitoba) and a Master of Science in Community Psychology (Sacred Heart University, Connecticut, USA). Julie-Anne’s work experience is focused on research and practice in mental health. Previous employment includes Program Specialist in Mental Health Promotion with the Winnipeg Regional Healthy Authority; Provincial Program Coordinator with Healthy Child Manitoba; Sessional Instructor with the Université de Saint Boniface; Research Coordinator with the University of Manitoba; Crisis Worker with the Mental Health Crisis Response Center and Mobile Crisis unit; and various work with the Franco-Manitoban community.
Her research interests include population mental health promotion and mental illness prevention, adverse childhood experiences, child and youth well-being, and Francophone minority well-being in Manitoba and Canada.
