Cohort 3

Julia is a masters of arts (MA) student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She completed her BA Honours (BA Hons.) in 2026 in psychology at Simon Fraser University studying how social and contextual differences relate to Canadian newcomers acculturation attitudes and adaptation. Currently, Julia is supervised by Dr. Kalee De France and Dr. Lauren Human and going into her MA she is interested in research examining what factors, such as social perception and emotion regulation, can help adolescents and young adults of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds foster resilience and positive wellbeing. In particular, she is passionate about partnering directly with communities to ensure her research is participant-driven and community led.
