Harriet MacMillan CM, MD, MSc, FRCPC(C) - Academic Partner
Harriet MacMillan is a psychiatrist and pediatrician conducting family violence research. She is a member of the Offord Centre for Child Studies, a Distinguished University Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, and of Pediatrics at McMaster University, and holds the Chedoke Health Chair in Child Psychiatry.
Harriet’s research focuses on preventing child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and associated mental health impairment.
She is a clinician with the Child Advocacy and Assessment Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital and current Lead of the VEGA (Violence, Evidence, Guidance, Action) Project, which developed evidence-based resources for responding safely to family violence.
