Daniel Ji, MSW, PhD
Daniel Ji is an Assistant Professor at the University of Regina Faculty of Social Work. He received his PhD in social work with a sub-specialization in Measurement, Evaluation and Research Methodology from the University of British Columbia in 2023. He has since completed two postdoctoral fellowships: one on the healthcare information needs of trans, Two-spirit, and nonbinary youth, and one with the Stigma and Resilience Among Vulnerable Youth Centre (SARAVYC) on the health and mental health of migrant youth in Canada. His research focuses on how parents and adolescents engage in resisting one another during interactions, and how young people grow in the context of parent-adolescent relationships. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in social work with a specialization in child welfare, and a double major in psychology and family studies from the University of British Columbia. Daniel worked in frontline child welfare for five years and served as a practice analyst working with Aboriginal Services for two years. He is a registered social worker who currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Adolescence.
