Land Acknowledgement
Land Acknowledgement
The Childhood Adversity and Resilience Research Training Platform (CARe RTP), is located at the University of Manitoba, on the homeland of the Métis Nation and the traditional territory of the Treaty 1 peoples who include the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Anisininew Nations, Dakota, and Dene. We are grateful to be able to work, live, learn and recreate on these precious lands.
The CARe team respects the treaties that were made on these Territories and acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and present throughout our nation. We recognize the ongoing present day colonial violence that is faced by Indigenous peoples within healthcare, education, justice, child welfare and government systems and we dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership towards decolonization in the spirit of reconciliation and collaboration. Nationally, we encourage all Settler-Canadians and visitors to Canada to become engaged allies with Indigenous peoples of the lands they live, work, and visit.
Reconnaissance territoriale
