Nikola Klassen, MA
Nikola is a PhD student in the experimental Psychology and Law Program at Simon Fraser University (SFU), supervised by Dr. Deborah Connolly and Dr. Heather Price. She completed her MA at SFU in Psychology and Law examining the impacts of environmental distractions and best practice suggestions for setting up online investigative interviews (known as tele-forensic interviews) with children. Nikola’s main research interests revolve around children’s memory for events, how to best interview children, and making justice more accessible for maltreated children. Furthermore, her interests also include the perceived credibility of child witnesses, the effects of stress on memory, and the use and availability of aids for children within the criminal justice system to help with the reduction of stress and overall child welfare.
