Ana Osorio – Research Associate, University of Manitoba
Ana is a Research Associate with the Childhood Adversity and Resilience (CARe) Research Team. Prior to joining the CARe Team, she was a research associate at the IN•GAUGE research program at the University of Manitoba. From 2006 to 2021, Dr. Osorio was an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali-Colombia, where she led the Research Program on Measurement of Childhood Well-being,PIMBN (2017-2021). She was also the director of the Master’s program in Social Policy (2019-2021) at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia.
Dr. Osorio’s research interests focus mainly on the construction and analysis of child well-being indicators and the study of socioeconomic determinants of child and maternal health.Dr. Osorio has managed several projects focused on measuring and monitoring children’s well-being, working closely and in partnership with public and private organizations at the international and national levels. In doing research for more than fifteen years, she has acquired a background in all phases of research, including research design, data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and written and oral communication skills for knowledge translation to different audiences.
